Choosing a Pest Control Company

Bugs, spiders and other pests are common residents of American homes but should they be? Luckily, there are solutions to these problems. Professional pest control companies are becoming more and more prevalent. Chances are, there are a handful of companies in your home town ready to come and service your home.

Unfortunately, not all pest control companies are created equally. This begs the question, how can I select a company?

Here are a few things to consider as you’re selecting a pest control company.

Ask if the company treats the specific pest issue you may have

Not all pest control companies trap for voles. Not all pest control companies treat eves for flying pests. It’s important to ask if the company if they actually treat for the specific pests you are dealing with. The worst thing would be to pay for a service that doesn’t actually address the concerns you have.

Ask about their process

This is an important time for you to get an insight into the pest control process. Does the company offer multiple forms of protection against pest problems? If the company simply offers a spraying product around the corners of your room, you might want to consider looking for a company that offers a more comprehensive protection plan.

Ask about their products

Let your pest control company know that you have pets, children or any other information that you think is helpful for them to consider. Ask if there is anything you’d like them to do in preparation for your home to be serviced. Most companies in the pest control industry use safe products. However, it may still be important to ask if their products are eco-friendly and pet and child-friendly.

 Are their reviews good?

Conveniently, Google, Yelp, Facebook and other companies are very open platforms for people to express their thoughts and opinions for others to consider. Go to these sites and look at the reviews. Remember that it is impossible to please everyone, don’t let some negative reviews completely deter you. Carefully review the negative reviews and see if there is a common issue people seem to have. It may illustrate an issue with avoiding. Similarly, see what people like about the company.
